Thomas Eugene Schrock, 82, of Elkhart, died at 2:47 am Saturday, July 18, 2009 at his home.
He was born October 15, 1926 in Goshen to Thomas R. and Edna J. (Boomershine) Schrock. Surviving are his former wife, Claran P. Schrock of Goshen, a daughter, Kimberly Schrock of Bristol, 2 sons, Stephen Schrock and Mark Schrock, both of Elkhart, and 3 grandchildren. 2 brothers, Lowell and Clair Schrock preceded in death.
Mr. Schrock retired as an electrical engineer and electrician. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, IBEW #153. He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1944 and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Indiana Tech in Ft. Wayne. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart, where services will be at 11 am Wednesday at the funeral home. Reverend Lee H. Campbell of New Hope United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen where military graveside honors will be conducted by the D.A.V. #19, Elkhart.
