Vera D. Singleton, 85, of Elkhart, died at 8:50 pm Friday June 18, 2010
after a brief stay at Greencroft Gables in Goshen.
She was born October 18, 1924 in Elkhart, Indiana to Dwight D. and
Grace E. (Mills) Kime, Sr.
On June 14, 1947 in Elkhart, she married Donald W. Singleton who preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 2009 after 62 years of marriage.
Surviving are 5 daughters, Linda (Daniel) Bodlovich of Hobart, Marcia (Leo) Tracy of Avon, Ruth (Steve) Kilmer, Debra (Mick) Kreighbaum and Brenda Singleton all of Elkhart; seven Grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Von (Virginia) and Dwight D. (Lois) Kime,Jr and two sisters: Marilyn Loucks and Lois (Gene) Coney all of Elkhart.
Vera was a graduate of Concord High School, a member of Indiana Volunteer Fireman’s Association Auxiliary, a lifetime member of Dunlap United Methodist Church, and active in several church organizations. Vera retired from Bayer Corporation after 20 years of service.
Friends may call from 4 to 7pm Monday June 21 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart and one hour prior to the 11am service Tuesday (June 22) at Dunlap United Methodist Church, 23674 U.S. 33, Elkhart with Pastor Joe Smith officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
