Vernon Walter Wright, 86, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday November 16, 2022 at Hubbard Hill Estates, Elkhart. He was born October 6, 1936 in Gardiner, Montana to William and Icel Wright.  He married Ida Geraldine and to this union he was blessed with his son Scott Wright. He later married Mildred and he helped to raise her sons Rick, Bill and John.

He grew up in Yellowstone National Park. His Dad was the purchasing agent for the park. Vernon became the assistant to the Fire Marshall of Yellowstone Park at 16 years old. He graduated from Gardiner High School in Gardiner Montana in 1955 and he joined in the Air Force. After he left the military, he was a police officer in Grover City, California. He then became a mail carrier and moved to Boise, Idaho where he continued to deliver mail until his retirement. After he retired, he started a cleaning service, Exquisite Expression, with his wife, Mickie, and they cleaned office buildings in the evenings and on weekends.

Surviving are his sons Vernon “Scott” (Kirsten) Wright of Shipshewana, IN., Rick (Dawn) Dennison of Grand Lake, CO. and John Cook of Meridian, ID; grandchildren Megan (Jimmy) Reddy, Brandee (Joe) Fiocca, Lucas (Bethany) Wright, Alyssa Wright, Alexis Wright, Alaina Wright, Desiree Nicole Dennison, Dustin Dennison, Andrea (Joey) Ramirez, Wyatt Dennison and Adriean Cook and 7 great-grandchildren; his niece Debbie (Terry) Miller, nephew Bill (Jenna) Wright, great niece and nephews Marcus, Matthew, Leah and Katie. Vernon was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Wright, his son, Bill Dennison and his brother, Devere (Doris) Wright.
