Vicki Darlene Watson

Vicki D. Watson, 64, of Bristol, passed away Monday November 25, 2024 at Goshen Hospital. She was born February 3, 1960 to Ernest Dan and Carol LaVonne Mason in Kansas City, MO. Vicki married David Watson on October 22, 1983 at Community Bible Church in Olathe, KS. 

Vicki is survived by her husband of over 41 years, David Watson of Bristol, IN; their sons, Kyle (Skye) Watson of Elkhart, IN and Derek (Justine Penix) Watson of Mishawaka, IN; her mother, Carol Mason of Shawnee, KS., grandchildren Hinley, Kelyn, and Brimerly and her siblings, Rick Mason of Shawnee, KS., Melanie (Darrell) Stevens, Spring Hill, KS and Eric (Chandall) Mason of Olathe, KS. Vicki was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Dan Mason.

Vicki graduated from Olathe High School, class of 1978. She attended Johnson County Community College. Vicki has a special place in her heart for children. She loved to bring children to know the Lord. She helped in the AWANA clubs at Community Bible Church in Olathe, KS and Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart, IN for 40 years. She worked as a teacher’s aide, paraprofessional, in the Elkhart Community School System for 23 years. She had also worked at the Bristol Public Library for 10 years. Vicki enjoyed crocheting, making hats, baby outfits and blankets for newborn babies. For her grandchildren she would crochet them a new outfit every month, for the first year. With love for her nieces, nephews and cousins she would make beautiful pillow covers and numerous needlepoint crafts. Vicki left wonderful memories for her family to cherish. She will be sadly missed. 

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8pm Thursday December 5, 2024 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where a celebration of life service for Vicki will be held at 7:30pm. Pastor John Hogsett will be officiating.
