Victor Arko

Victor “Vic” Arko, 79 passed away Tuesday (Sept 10,2013) at Elkhart
General Hospital. He was born May 28, 1934 in Elkhart to the late Lewis and Pauline
(Strukel) Arko. Victor is survived by the love of his life, Dreama and three daughters,
Sue Arko of Gilbert, AZ, Marianne Arko of Phoenix,AZ and Nancy (William) Kapler of
Phoenix,.; 7 grandchildren, Allison Kapler of Coronado, CA, Kaitlin Kapler, Nicole
Kapler, Nicolas Kapler, Phoenix; Tara Pike, Los Angeles, CA, Shelby Pike, Phoenix, and
Jacey Wigley, Gilbert, AZ., Sister Eleanor Haney, Elkhart and Brother Albert “Al” (Kate)
Arko, Elkhart; and his long time secretary of 44 years, Marla (Laron) Beyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother William (Bill) Arko.

Vic was a 1952 graduate of Elkhart High School, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN
1956 and the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1959. He has been a practicing Attorney in Elkhart since 1959. He was a member of the American Bar Association,
Indiana State Bar Association, and Elkhart City Bar Association.

He was a member of Saint Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus
Council 1043, IARA, Elkhart Moose Lodge # 599, and a Life Member of Elkhart Elks
Lodge # 425

Vic was an ardent Notre Dame supporter and avid golfer. He so enjoyed the CCCC group
of men that he golfed with on a regular weekly basis and his many trips to AZ to visit his
daughters and their families.

In accordance with Victor’s wishes, his body will be cremated with arrangements by
Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral and Cremation Center.

A Victor Arko Celebration of Life is planned for Friday, October 11, 2013, 5:00 – 7:00
PM. at Christiana Creek Country Club/Elkhart Elks, 116 W. Bristol, Elkhart.
