Warren W. Gutschow

January 12, 1931 — February 13, 2017

Warren W. Gutschow, 86, of Elkhart passed away Monday, February 13, at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Elkhart. He was born January 12, 1931 in Elgin, IL to Vernon H. and Henrietta (Peters) Gutschow. He married Rhoda Roberts on November 4, 1961 in Chicago.

He is survived by his wife, Rhoda, of Elkhart; 3 Daughters: Laura Byrns of Elkhart, Julie (Edward) Riedmaier of Woodridge, IL and Mary Gutschow of Elkhart; 4 Grandchildren: Kathryn (Neil) Lane, Daniel (Erica) Byrns, John Riedmaier and Will Riedmaier;2 Great-Grandchildren: Raelynn and Liam Lane; a Sister, Donna (Clark) Niss of Naples, FL; several nieces and nephews; and 2 Foreign Exchange Sons: Ignacio Duarte and Ramiro Lopez, both of Bolivia.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charles Byrns, and a niece, Diane Niss.

Warren served his country honorably in the United States Navy. After his service in the Navy, he spent his career in sales in the engineering field. He was a Sales Manager for engineering supplies. He was a member the VFW and Trinity United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home. A Funeral Service in his honor will be on Saturday at 11 A.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church. Pastor Tim Burchill will officiate. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
