Wayne E. Haney

Wayne E. Haney, 74, of White Pigeon, MI, passed away at home on March 9, 2017 after a 7-month illness. He was born on October 8, 1942 in Rochester, IN to Edgar P. and Edith (Cook) Haney-Darkwood. He married Darlene Berkey on November 13, 1965 in Elkhart, IN.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene, of White Pigeon, MI; 3 daughters: Brenda Haney of Grand Rapids, MI; Tracy Denney of Constantine, MI and Shelley (Keith) Cuvo of White Pigeon, MI; a son, Todd Haney of White Pigeon, MI; 6 grandchildren:Cami Denney, Tayler Haney, Brooklynn Haney, Derek Cuvo, Griffin Haney and Dayne Cuvo; 1 great-grandchild, Remington Taylor; a sister, Louedva (Marvin) Anderson of Indianapolis, IN; 2 brothers: Lamar (Linda) Haney of Cullowhee, NC and Guy (Jane) Haney of Orland, ME.

He graduated from Tri State University and went directly to Steering Engineer at Ford Motor Company. He later owned Haney Construction until his retirement. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where he was an Usher and a past Trustee. He played softball and basketball on the church team. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 PM Friday March 17, 2017 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to the 11 AM service on March 18, 2017 at Bethel United Methodist Church. Pastor Keith McFarren will officiate. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the church.
