Wilhelmina L. Beber, 85, of Elkhart passed away May 15, 2012 at the Hospice House of Elkhart.
She was born March 23, 1927 in Fenwood, Wisc. to Paul and Clara (Wiesman) Bachman and married Ernest E. Beber Jr. on June 24, 1945 in Elkhart. He died April 17, 1997. Surviving are 3 sons, Ernest (Kristine) Beber III, Gary (Lori) Beber and Brent (Kelly) Beber and a daughter, Linda (Duncan) MacMillan all of Elkhart; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers, Harold (Geneva) Bachman of Mishawaka and Elmer Bachman of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Hay and 2 brothers, Donald and William Bachman.

Mrs. Beber graduated from Elkhart High School in 1945 and worked in the cafeteria at Elkhart General Hospital. She then worked for Miles Laboratories during the war effort as Rosie the Riveter, then worked in production for C.T.S. Corp. for 15 years. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, American Legion Auxiliary Post 74, the Red Hat Society, and was active in the Osolo Little League. She was an avid Cubs fan.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart where services will be held at 11 am Monday. Pastor John von Lackum will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
