Willard E. Rick

Willard E. Rick, 88 of Elkhart, died at 1:45 pm Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the Elkhart Hospice House.

He was born Jan. 19, 1923 in Jamestown, North Dakota to Otto and Helen (Stuff) Rick and married Betty R. Gushwa on Aug. 9, 1947. She died on Jan. 14, 2008. Surviving are 2 sons, Aaron (Mary Katherine) Rick of Level Plains, Ala. and Kevin (Ann) Rick of Elkhart; 2 daughters, Bonnie (Jim) Beringer of Edwardsburg, MI and Cathy (David) Pfaff of Elkhart; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laurie Rick, a brother, Lewis Rick and 2 sisters, Marlene Mickels and an infant sister.

Mr. Rick retired after 25 years from the Elkhart Community School Corp. where he worked in maintenance.

Private services and burial will take place at a later date in North Dakota. Memorials may be given to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
