William Bruce Beach

March 20, 1945 — September 21, 2011

William “Bill” Bruce Beach, 66, of Elkhart, went home to be with the Lord with his loving family at his side at 6:00 am, September 21, 2011.

He was born to Howard and Alice (Cripe) Beach on March 20, 1945 in Mishawaka. He married Shirley Miller in Elkhart on April 2, 1988.

She survives along with daughter Windy (Conrad) Tirre of Englewood, CO and son Brian (Amy) Beach of Osceola; grandchildren Dylan and Ashlyn Beach; 2 sisters Sandra Kenna and Cheri Tirrell and 2 brothers David (Gail) Beach and Scott (Liesa) Shultz all of Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Beach and his mother Alice Beach Shultz.

Bill worked at Miles for 27 ½ years in various roles including manager of Inventory Control in the Consumer Healthcare Division. He also taught an Inventory Control class at I.U.S.B. Bill was the owner of Beach Enterprises which was a lawn and sprinkler business and also was a tax preparer. One of his greatest joys was the relationships he developed with his customers. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Bill was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and enjoyed Notre Dame sports, working outdoors, and politics.

Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. Services will be Saturday at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Close ministers of the family will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Military graveside honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and DAV #19.
