William Krueger

William C. Krueger, 91, of Elkhart, IN passed away in the comfort of his home on January 29, 2025. William was born on September 19, 1933, to Frederick Krueger and Elsie Krueger in Columbus, Nebraska. On September 12, 1975, William married his wife of 37 years, Marilyn Murphy, in Columbus, Nebraska.

William is survived by his daughters, Darlyn (Tim) Smale of Elkhart, IN; Billie of Saugatuck, MI; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. William is preceded by his parents, Frederick and Elsie Krueger; wife Marilyn Krueger; son Lee Murphy; daughter Kim Coleman; 3 brothers, Lee Krueger, Glen Krueger, and Floyd Krueger.

William served during the Korean War, as a member of the United States Navy for 8 years, before being discharged. William worked at Geocel LLC as a shipping receiving clerk, before retiring after 25 years of service. William enjoyed traveling across the country with his wife Marilyn for many years and took immense pride in being a Cornhusker from Nebraska. In his free time, he also enjoyed doing yard work, gardening, and most importantly, never forgetting to feed the birds, even instructing others to do so when he could not. William will be missed by all who love him.

Public visitation will take place on Thursday, February 6 from 10am – 11am with services beginning at 11 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN, 46514. A luncheon will take place at Willowdale Church of Christ, 1400 Willowdale Ave, Elkhart, IN 46514, following funeral services.
