William Franklin Macer, 88, of Warner Robins, GA formerly of Elkhart, entered into rest on Sunday, April 29, 2012.
Mr. Macer was born on August 4, 1923 in Billings, Montana. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served during World War II and was honored with a Purple Heart for his service.
Mr. Macer went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana and retired from the United States Postal Service after several years. He was a member of the Crow Indian Tribe in Crow Agency, Montana and of Trinity United Methodist Church.
His parents, Henry Kirk Macer and Mabel Edith Schmitt Macer; and son-in-law, Dan Flick, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Barbara Jean Macer, Warner Robins; children, Linda Williamson, Warner Robins, Karen Flick, Chino Valley, Arizona, Kirk Macer (Robin), South Bend, Indiana; grandchildren, Amy Averett (Chad), Brenda Volz (John), Cara Lenz (Jonathan), Jason Flick (Josie), Tammany Estrada (Javier), William Flick, Katrina Flick (Dan Carlock), Bryan Macer (Amy), and Kevin Macer; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Saturday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
The family will accept flowers, or donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 129 S. Houston Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
