William J. "Bill" Method

William J. Method, loving husband, father and grandfather, 80 of Elkhart, IN. passed away May 1, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born December 30, 1933 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. to Hugh J. and Lucille (Reiland) Method. He married Ann Marie Lovisa on August 24, 1957 in Indianapolis, IN.

She survives along with 1 son, Dr. Michael W. Method of South Bend, IN., 5 daughters, Michelle (John) Jacobs of Puyallup, WA., Mary (Jim) Evans of Westfield, IN., Margot (Kurt) Miley of St. John’s, FL., Melinda (Michael) Nash and Monica (Mike) Cronin both of Carmel, IN., 16 grandchildren and 2 sisters, Mary McNamara of Indianapolis, IN. and Margaret Hillsamer of Arkansas and a brother, Peter (Cindy) Method of Michigan. His brother, Hugh Method Jr. and his sister, Sister Lucille Method both preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 3-7 pm Sunday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and one half hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial which will be held at 10 am Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Father Jason Freiburger will officiate. The Rosary will be recited 7 pm Sunday following visitation.

Bill retired from PDH Office Products where he was a salesman. Prior to PDH, he owned Method Office Equipment in Marion, IN. He currently worked part time for Artcraft Printers. He was a member of St. Thomas where he was a very active volunteer, Elkhart Noon Optimist Club, Rotary and Elks Club, St. Joseph’s Men’s Society and Knights of Columbus. He volunteered for the Salvation Army, Midwest Museum of American Art and served on the board of Eastlake Homeowners Association. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

He served as a specialist in the US Army during World War II. Memorial contributions may be given to either St. Thomas Catholic Church or the Salvation Army. An online guestbook may be found at www.stemmlawsonpeterson.com
