William L Stockdale

William L. Stockdale, 82 of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born Aug. 25, 1934 in Waynetown, Indiana to William Alfred and Vera (Smith) Stockdale. He married M. Colleen Cone on May 25, 1963 in Elkhart. She died July 29, 2012. Surviving are 2 sons, Michael and Douglas Stockdale both of Elkhart; 2 nieces, Dara Cone of Elkhart and Amy and Joe Green of Leno Lakes, MN; 2 nephews, Scott and Katrina Stockdale and Steve Stockdale both of San Antonio, TX and a sister-in-law, Ann Stockdale of San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Stockdale.

Bill graduated from Lewisville High School in New Castle and Butler University. He proudly served in the U. S. Army. Bill retired in 1999 as a Registered Pharmacist at Goshen General Hospital where he had worked since 1972. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Elkhart and the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29th at 2 pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Elkhart and entombment will follow in the Church Columbarium.
