William E. Wiltfong

William E. “Bill” Wiltfong, 65, of Elkhart, president of Wiltfong Moving and Storage Co. passed away Wednesday morning, September 5th at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born on February 4, 1947 in South Bend to Leslie and Frances (Cataldo) Wiltfong. He married Kris Wambaugh on January 20, 1972. She survives along with 2 sons, Ryan (Amy) Wiltfong of Bristol and Andrew (Tina) Wiltfong of Elkhart, a sister Kathy (Terry) Garl of Osceola, and 6 wonderful grandchildren, Jackson, Rylee, Cameron, Lily, Noah and Baby Sophie whom he loved very much along with a host of sister and brother in laws, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1965 and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge #425 and the Moose Lodge #599. He loved NASCAR, Notre Dame, and the Chicago Cubs and Bears. He will be extremely missed by his faithful companion, his golden retriever, Stella.

Visitation for Bill will be on Friday from 4-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, where a Vigil Service will be at 5:30 pm Friday. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:30 am at St. Vincent’s Cemetery. Fr. Bill Sullivan will officiate.

Memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
