Wilma I. Grove

Wilma I Grove,80 of 210 Myrtle Street, Elkhart, Indiana died October 31, 2008 at the home of her daughter, Mary Baynes.She was born on January 12, 1928 in Elkhart, Indiana to Benjamin & Ethel B. (Hawthorne) Griffin. She married John R. Grove on August 2, 1947 in Elkhart, Indiana.He preceded her in death on December 12, 1987.

Surviving are three sons, Ben (Sandra) Grove and William Grove both of Elkhart, Indiana, Robert (Nancy) Grove of Emporia, Kansas, two daughters; Julie (Michael) Wilcox of Elkhart, Indiana and Mary (Tim) Baynes of Grayslake, Illinois, nineteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Four brothers, Kenneth Griffin, Lyle Lantz, Delbert Lantz and Myron (Mike) Griffin, a son, John O. Grove and a grandson, Griffin Wilcox all preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 2-7 P.M. Sunday and also 2 hours prior to the funeral service on Monday at Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Boulevard, Elkhart
Reverend Tom Thews of Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate.

Mrs. Grove retired from Elkhart General Hospital after 39 years as an Obstetrician Technician.She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the YWCA water aerobics.She was an avid Colts, Bears, White Sox, Purdue and Ohio State fan.She loved high school sports and sponsored many programs financially (Booster Club) at Memorial High School. She attended I.U.S.B. and the Elkhart General Hospital Nursing OB tech course.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Salvation Army, Faith Mission or the Scholarship Fund at Memorial High School.
