John Glen Homan

John Glen Homan, 55, of Elkhart passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023. He was born on January 31, 1968 in San Bernardino, CA to William Glen and Artyce Homan. He married Laura Smith on January 7, 1989 at New Creation Fellowship in Granger, IN.

John moved from California to Bend, Oregon when he was small, he always spoke of its beauty and would someday like to return. He graduated from Rhema Bible Training College in Broken Arrow, OK and earned his associate degree from IUSB where he studied Spanish, which was his passion. He worked as a MLL Paraprofessional at Northridge Middle School in Middlebury, IN. He enjoyed playing the hand drums. He was a published author and enjoyed writing poetry and meeting with a poetry group at The Bookworm. He and his wife are members of New Creation Fellowship Church in Granger.

John is survived by his wife, Laura Homan; their daughter, Emma Brewer of Nashville, TN; his sister Carol Ann Haygood of Reno, NV and his brother-in-law Dale Campfield of Cincinnati, OH as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. John was preceded in death by his parents William and Artyce Homan; and his sister Cathi Campfield.

John's request would be for everyone to please wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt at his memorial service at 11:30 am on Monday April 10, 2023 at New Creation Fellowship Church, 30190 CR Road 10, Granger, IN 46530 with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. John’s ashes will be laid to rest in Bend, Oregon. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the Homan Family.
